The Warwickshire and Birmingham Wing Field Day at Gamecock Barracks is a big event for all the cadets and staff of 121 (Nuneaton) Squadron, when they finally get the chance to put all their hard work and training to the test by taking part in a wide variety of different competitions.
The 121 Squadrons first aid and aircraft recognition teams performed well in their events and the drill team put on a magnificent display, something to be proud of.
The highlight of the day for the cadets and staff of 121 (Nuneaton) Squadron came during the final parade as Central and East Regional Commandant, Group Captain Brett Morrell RAFR, presented them with Certificates and trophies for taking first place in the Public Relations, Photographic and Media Design competitions.
Following their success, Cadet Warrant Officer Robert Allan & Flight Lieutenant Paul Hincks of the units Media Communications team who submitted the winning photographs and media design entries will be representing the Warwickshire and Birmingham wing at the Central & East Regional Field Day to be held at RAF Wittering on Sunday 4th September 2011.
Flight Lieutenant Paul Hincks of 121 (Nuneaton) Squadron said, “We have done extremely well in the Media Communications arena again this year, with much of our success being attributable to the outstanding coverage given to the Squadron’s activities by local community newspapers. I would like to congratulate all the cadets who took part today and the adult staff that helped to train them. Every cadet who took part should be justly proud of his or her performance and I hope we can repeat our success when we compete at the regional championships in September”.
