Adoption is a wonderful option and can be a delicate subject. Often, only the straightforward success stories are shared. What happens when potential adopters get caught in the complicated process? Ross Adams, an award-winning actor best known for his role as Scott Drinkwell in Hollyoaks and a Diverse Film Fund filmmaker has created a film unravelling his painful adoption journey. Back with a Bang: Together TV returns to full Freeview capacity, and to celebrate, a new free DIY Challenge is being launched to support mental health in the run-up to Christmas

- Social Purpose Broadcaster Together TV is back on Freeview, with over 20m households once again having access to the channel’s warming blend of feel-good and motivating programming.

- Together TV is available on Freeview channel 83 and a brand new Together TV +1 channel on Freeview channel 92.

- A new ‘DIY Challenge’ - in partnership with UK Men’s Sheds Association - is being launched, hosted by fan favourite and DIY show presenter, Dave Wellman, known from ‘New Home DIY’  

- Following the popularity, success and social impact of the Sunflower Challenge - run by the channel in the spring with over 100,000 participants growing sunflowers so far - this next ‘Challenge’  will encourage viewers to make three showstopping DIY projects to Channel Your Inner Maker by boosting their skills, sense of community and wellbeing during tough and isolating winter months.

- 85% of Together TV viewers said that they have done something good as a result of watching the channel and being part of its initiatives (Opinium, July 2022)

We have great news! Together TV is back on Freeview across the UK.

In June 2022, Freeview made some changes to the way it was broadcasting Together TV, which amounted to many of our viewers unable to watch us. Our team worked hard to launch an alternative viewing experience which would help some viewers who had TV's connected to the internet.

Press Release: Inspiring, defiant and life-affirming LGBTQ+ stories brought to air by Together TV’s BAFTA-winning initiative

  • Four LGBTQ+ stories brought to life by Together TV are to be released in November: from the aquatic adventures of two queer mermaids, the tumultuous tale of a trans boxer campaigning for the right to fight, to Britain’s first out Muslim drag queen undergoing gender affirmation surgery and the struggles of two gay dads going through a painful child adoption process.
  • Together TV’s Diverse Film Fund was created with the aim to give underrepresented narratives a platform. Four filmmakers have been commissioned to create 20-minute documentaries and will have their films aired on Together TV
  • The filmmakers include Hollyoaks star Ross Adams, who explores his painful journey and reflection upon the adoption process for LGBTQ+ couples, and former Britain’s Got Talent semi-finalist Shiva Raichandani.
  • This year's theme is LGBTQ+: Queer Lives Today, which celebrates the LGBTQ+ community while bringing attention to important issues affecting the day-to-day lives of its members.
  • The 2022 Diverse Film Fund includes mentors and judges from media giants including, BBC, Sky, Paramount, TwoFour Productions, Zinc Media Group, alongside Bafta-nominated director Ashley Francis-Roy and industry expert Stephen D Wright.
