Thursday 21 July 2022 – Together TV welcomes BBC Creative Director Justin Bairamian as new Trustee. As the TV channel that inspires positive social change, Together TV’s board includes senior executives from partners like broadcasters BBC, ITV, Channel 4, Sky, and Arqiva, the charity sector and its community-society shareholders.

Justin is Director of BBC Creative, the BBC's in-house creative agency. He joined the BBC in 2004, following a career in creative agencies, working on, amongst others, the Perfect Day BBC campaign. While at the BBC, he played various senior roles within Marketing – most recently designing and implementing the new creative services model. He runs the in-house 'agency', BBC Creative, as well as managing relationships with external agencies. Justin sits on the board of Freeview. (Source: BBC website).

As the world’s first community-owned charitable national television channel, Together TV is on a quest to reach as many viewers across the UK, wherever they are, however they want to watch. Due to recent Freeview changes resulting in reduced terrestrial hours, Together TV has launched a new IP simulcast of its 24-hour TV channel. As one of the first channels in the main Freeview section, Together TV is pioneering new technologies that enable viewers to watch Together TV as a linear channel but delivered in higher quality via an internet connection. By tuning on Freeview 83, most viewers using a recent TV set will be able to keep watching Together TV as usual.

The simulcast launch follows the free streaming service recently launched and reflects the channel’s purpose-driven ethos throughout. Programming includes gardening, cooking, rural and history series and thought-provoking documentaries, in addition to the original content created from the annual Diverse Film Fund initiative. The content catalogue will become richer and deeper with more fan favourites as the channel’s programming becomes available to catch up and stream.

Justin Bairamian said: “I am delighted to join Together TV’s Board of Trustees at such a transformational time for the organisation. This appointment will reinforce the ongoing long-term partnership between the BBC and this unique social purpose channel. In my new role I look forward to advising on Together TV’s creative and social impact strategy, helping them deliver more impact to more people than ever before”.

Caroline Diehl, Founder and Chair at Together TV explained: “Justin has been a wonderful and dynamic supporter of Together TV for years, having led on the creative evolution of our brand and our social action campaigns, enhancing our ability to reach out to, inspire and connect our viewers. Our BBC partnership goes back over 20 years now, and I am delighted that Justin will join our board at such an important time for the channel - technically, creatively and in communities across the UK.”
