In October 2023 Together TV launched its community film initiative, Better Together . This initiative invited filmmakers to submit their films about community to be broadcast on Together TV. Four fantastic short films were chosen to be shown throughout February 2024.

In the UK, the first ever LGBT+ History Month began in February 2005 as a way to bring attention to LGBT people and their history, and has continued on since. The month-long celebration is full of different events, activities, and educational opportunities to help raise awareness about the civil rights of Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgender (LGBT) people and to bring LGBT+ people together to greater expand the community. The LGBT+ History Month charity works hard to get this history into the educational system, and a dedicated month aids the campaign.

We're in the homestretch for our 2022 Diverse Film Fund filmmakers! In the brief lull between putting the polishing touches on their films and releasing them to the world, Together TV had a chance to sit down with our filmmakers and discuss their creative processes. Find out about what it takes to make a documentary, where their inspiration came from, and the resources Together TV provided.

Aaron Carty’s dream was to be a superhero for his community. He initially began his career as a police officer at 18, but today he is an inspiration for many as the UK’s biggest Beyoncé tribute drag queen. Together TV's Diverse Film Fund filmmaker, Blaise Singh, captures Aaron's spactacle in "The Beyoncé Experience" showing on Together TV throughout Black History Month on Together TV from 19th October. He sat down with us and PA media for an exclusive interview about how he became the Beyoncé Experience.

The life of a filmmaker can be enigmatic to those of us who haven’t dabbled behind the scenes and on set. Together TV’s Diverse Film Fund supported five emerging filmmakers with a £10,000 fund, mentoring and training. 2021’s filmmakers are  Ikram Ahmed, Alexandra Genova, Sheila Kayuma, Jason Osborne and Blaise Singh.. The filmmakers had a varying level of experience, but this was to be their first TV credit. We sat down to hear first hand what a typical day looked liked for them.

Together TV has started showing Adrian Edmondson’s series The Dales. Where he trollops across the Dales over the course of a summer meeting the people who live off this stunning part of the UK. We get to meet many lovely people throughout the series, and you may end up wondering where are they now? We’ve done a bit of detective work and found some updates to share from the lovely people of the Dales.

Country House Rescue is one of our most beloved series on Together TV. It may be a guilty pleasure, but who doesn’t love glimpsing into how the other half live? We are excited to show series four, but we will miss host Ruth Watson. 

Britain is home to many heroes. What makes a hero is incredibly personal. As Afua Hirsch uncovers in the Battle For Britain’s Heroes, we can be protective of those that we consider heroes but others may see as villainous. There are many unsung heroes in Britain too. Together TV wanted to take a look at a few names that us Brits owe a lot to, and who may have slipped through the cracks.
